Well Reghan once again has escaped potentially serious problems. Her MRI came back CLEAR!!!! There are no tumors, black or dead spots or abnormalitites on her brain or spinal cord. The scan also confirmed the new second kiddney. We are so relieved to know that their is nothing wrong that cannot be helped by medication or a miracle if God chooses. Reghan is now diagnosed with Partial Frontal Lobal seizures just like Robbie. They are easily treated and controlled by medication (that she is on). The neurologist thinks that if she can be on this medication for a year without a seizure then she should be able to come off the medication and live seizure free for the rest of her life. This medication is still in the late experimental stages and is not approved for children under four. Reghan is the youngest patient this doctor has had on it. From what I understand, this medication is actually able to heal the neurons that are miss firing (causing the seizure) and ultimatly allows the patient to come off the medication and live a normal life.
Her seizures should never hinder her goals in life and things she wants to do since she is so young and getting treatment. Driving will not be an issue. She will be able to be one of those crazy 16 year-olds out on the open road behind the wheel of a car (scary!). The only thing she will not be able to do is have alcohol. Alcohol tends to cause seizures in someone who has epilipsy. Darn! Good news for us!
God continues to do miracles in this little girl's life. He has blessed all of us in ways we do not even realize yet. I am so thankful He continues to heal her body and brain.

Hey, at least you don't have to worry about her turning 21...or underage drinking for that matter! Glad to hear Reghan is doing so well.
