Neurologist Follow-up

Today I took Reghan to Oakland to see her pediatric neurologist for a follow up. I went with many questions and he was able to give me answers.

Here is the info I got:

*She is having a combination of seizures and night terrors.
*The medication is doing a good job controlling them.
*The MRI and EEG were perfect and there is no damage or dead spots in her brian (very good thing).
*Her development is at a three-year-old level (no damage caused by the seizures)
*She will need to stay on the medication for two years and then repeat the EEG to make sure everything is still normal. After two years she will be taken off the medication and has a 75% chance of never having a seizure or night terror again! Dr. Malhorta believes that she will fall into the 75% and live a normal life, seizure free and medication free!
*Dr. Malhorta will see Reghan every six months for a check-up to make sure her development is still "above normal".
*He noticed that Reghan is now a happier child compared to the first time he saw her. As soon as he walked in to the room he noticed the difference in her personality. We have our fun loving, live wire back!

We are praising God for the wonderful news today. It was so nice to walk out of the appointment knowing we do no have another test to prepare her for. Robbie and I are both praying for another miracle for her. We know that God blessed us with Reghan's life as our first mircale. He produced Reghan a new kidney as our second miracle. So, now we are praying for the thrid! Please pray along with us. We have learned that nothing is too big or small for God. He can do anything.

I know this is long, but I wanted to get the latest out there. We still do not know the results of the sleep study from last week. I will let you know when I know. I hope you all have a wonderful night. Thank you for your support and prayers through out Reghan's journey through life.
