It has been seven days since Reghan's surgery and life seems to be getting better each day! I am so thankful. Reghan still has two more days until she is considered "out of the woods" as far as bleeding and other complications associated with the surgery. So far she has had no bleeding and has returned to eating EVERYTHING she wants to eat. It is amazing.
Reghan did have an allergic reaction to either her antibiotics or the codine that she was recieving. So, we took her off of both and she is feeling much better. As for sleep, we still have some issues and I think it is because of the anesthesia and her habbit of getting up every time she wakes up. She is up about three times a night now, but I am thankful because it is a far leap from previous nights when she was up over 20 times a night! I have been told that the anesthesia and its effects can last in a body for up to six months. Rehgan will have her moments of uncontrollable behavior and not being able to decide on anything. I am praying that with the next passing days that this will improve too.
I hope that I am making some kind of sense. Things are getting better around here and I am slowly seeing a much happier child imerge. It is amazing. We took some pictures of Reghan at the hospital, but they are on Robbie's phone. I will have him post them when he gets home from work. Thank you for faithfully praying with us through this time. We are thankful for each one of you.
On a fun note, Robbie is going to teach Reghan how to snow ski this weekend! He is so excited. This is something he has wanted to to for a long time. I will be watching from the warm lodge. I will also take lots of pictures and video. I will post those too as soon as we get home.
