The first thing that came flying out of Reghan's mouth when I picked her up at preschool today was "Mommy, I get to come back here on Thursday!". I knew this had to be a good sign of how the day had gone. Thank God!!
Today was Reghan's first day of preschool and I woke up this morning very anxious of how the day was going to go. She picked out her dress and what she wanted me to make her for breakfast. She seemed very excited this morning to go, but I remember how excited she was to go to ballet a few months ago. Remember how that turned out?
After getting ready this morning we (Robbie, Reghan and I) headed off to preschool. We got there in plenty of time to take pictures of Reghan - which I will post when Robbie gets home with his camera - and for Reghan to show Daddy where were class is. Things seemed to be going too well wich made me even more nervous. I had already informed the teachers that in the event that Reghan started to cry and throw a fit that they were to grab her and just let me walk out of the room. Then, a few minutes later she should be just fine.
It came time to leave and Reghan was busily playing with a puzzle at a table with other kids and so we said goodbye and she quickly said "bye". I started wondering if she was going to let me get to the door and then she was going to have a tantrum or was she really going to be just fine with it all. Well, Robbie and I successfully made it to the cubbies, to the door and out of the parking lot without having to be called back!!! Yeah!!! Just what I have been praying for!
I was there to pick Reghan up right on time at noon and I walked into the classroom right next to her and she never looked up or said a word! She was so into the activity she was doing at the moment. One of the teachers (there are four in the class of 18) told me how well Reghan did and how well mannered she is. All I could think of is Praise the Lord!!
Once Reghan realized I was next to her she looked up and smiled. Quickly she became excited about coming back on Thursday and informed me that they are having pretzles and bannanas for snack then. Oh joys of a three-year-old! I am thankful that today went so well and that we just might make it through a year of preschool successfully. Now this gives me hope for ballet next year.......maybe.
